…Says women play significant role in governance

Imo State Deputy Governor, Lady ChinyereIhuomaEkomaru has described Governor Hope Uzodinma as a gender-friendly governor who has the interest of Imo women at heart.
Lady Ekomaru who said this when the executive of CATOL Women Ministry led by Lady NgoziNgoka paid her a courtesy visit in her office, stated that she is always happy whenever she sees women at the helm of affairs, especially in the church.
The deputy governor thanked the CATOL women for their unwearvering support to His Excellency and herself during the 2023 polls which she said will not go unrewarded, as the victory is for all Imolites.
Lady Ekomaru who described the CATOL women as intelligent, beautiful and special, admonished them to use their upcoming mothering Sunday to build a strong family, make it a special one and equally use it to reflect the glory of God in their lives, families and society.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the women, the Chairman, CATOL women planning committee for the 2024 mothering Sunday, Lady NgoziNgoka said they came to congratulate Her Excellency and the Governor, Hope Uzodinma on their victory during the 2023 polls, in which the CATOL women voted massively for them.
Lady Ngoka who revealed that the two female deputy governors Imo State has ever had were all of the CATOL women extraction, said they also came to intimate the deputy governor of their upcoming mothering Sunday, slated to hold in the month of March.
Meanwhile the deputy governor has opined that the roles of women in governance can never be over emphasized, stressing that women add value in every administration.
The deputy governor said this during the birthday occasion of the Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Dr. Mrs. Julie Onyeukwu on Monday, January 30 2024.
Lady Ekomaru said that Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration places value on women as society builders, while describing Uzodinma as a gender friendly governor, adding that he has continued to partner with and empower women in various political offices in the state, and Nigeria at large.
Ekomaru poured encomiums on the celebrant, describing her as a dedicated, focused, honest woman, adding that she is the highest employer of labourwho showed solid support to her as the running mate to Governor Uzodimma.
Earlier in an interview with newsmen, the Celebrant, Dr. Mrs. Onyeukwu expressed appreciation to God for adding another year to her life, as she appreciated her husband, Engr. JohnbullOnyeukwu for always standing and supporting her, while stating that she will continue to show love to humanity.
She also thanked the wife of the Governor, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma for gifting her a birthday cake, as well as the Deputy Governor, Lady ChinyereEkomaru for honouring the event.
Some dignitaries who graced the occasion included; a former Secretary to the State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Barr. Willie Amadi, HRM Eze Mitchel UchennaEgbukole, the Ochonma 6th of Egbu Ancient kingdom, a former APC chieftain, Chief Marcel Nlemigbo and a host of others.
