Remain steadfast in your support for Uzodimma – Deputy Governor’s CPS urges Ekomaru Vanguards of Hope

The Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Dr. Charles Uzopuo has reminded members of “Ekomaru Vanguards of Hope”, Owerri West chapter, the need to remain steadfast in their support for the present government led by Senator Hope Uzodimma, by applauding and publicizing its achievements.

Dr. Uzopuo gave this charge while addressing members of the group who paid him courtesy visit in his office at the Government House Owerri, yesterday.

He encouraged them to persevere in their support for the governor, promising that their expectations will definitely be met by the government, at one stage or the other, during the lifespan of the administration.

The deputy governor’s CPS listed some of the novel achievements of the governor to include; massive road construction and renovation, renovation of 305 Primary Health Centres across the 305 political wards of the state, attraction of investors, such as the Afreximbank and partners to the state, signing MoU with an Egyptian giant, Eswedy for the generation and transmission of steady power in the state.

Other such achievements highlighted by the CPS included; attraction of the African Quality Assurance Center to the state, the Oguta Power Plant, the ANOH Gas processing plant in Ohaji/Egbema, the ongoing construction of flyover at Control Post, fighting insecurity to a standstill in the state, human capital development, among others.

On the aspiration of some members of the Vanguard for chairmanship and Councillorship positions in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state, the CPS urged them to take advantage of the level playing ground provided by the governor to test their popularity among their people.

“Don’t feel that because I am a supporter of Hope Uzodimma, he is going to guarantee me victory. That is not going to happen. Everybody will have equal opportunity to aspire and contest, and it’s either you win or you loose. The opportunity in Imo State is for everyone of us. The governor runs a shared prosperity government, which ensures that the prosperity of the state gets to all”.

He however expressed optimism that judging by antecedents of members of the Vanguard in their communities and LGA, most of them who will throw their heart to the ring in the election will emerge victorious.

Earlier in his speech, leader of the delegation, Lawrence Oganno said the group deemed it fit to pay courtesy visit to the CPS who is the state coordinator of the Vanguard, to formerly congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment.

He used the opportunity to inform the CPS that most executive members in the entourage were aspiring for Councillorship in their different wards while himself was aspiring for chairmanship of Owerri West LGA.
